I started the program at 156 pounds and now I am at 139 lbs, losing a total of 17 pounds within 9 weeks. I was a size 14 and now I can fit into some of my size 8 clothes. However, this is amazing because I had a very stubborn metabolism. I'm a single mother raising three small children by myself and my health is important. My face has even changed - it's less round. The best thing about this program is that it really brought my overall health up. My doctor even took me off all three medications (for blood pressure, thyroid and depression). My blood pressure is down to 117/70. Even though I was on thyroid medication, I was a primary Ovary type, which can cause a secondary thyroid problem. My clothes fit so much better and my energy is through the roof. I don't need my Cokes to stay awake anymore. My body is used to the foods and I even prefer eating this way. I am consistently losing 2 pounds per week and Dr. Berg explained that this was the maximum amount of fat a person could burn, so I'm happy about it. I started the program weighing in at 148 pounds, fluctuating between a size 12 and 14. My thing was chocolate and I majorly craved it in any form. I also loved popcorn and salty things. In Dr. Berg's book, he describes chocolate and salt cravings being the Adrenal type. Since I was a little girl I've struggled with weight, taking dancing classes and other activities to try to lose it. I've tried many diets over the years, losing some weight but putting it right back on. Through Dr. Berg's program, I realized I've been focused on the wrong thing: calories and fat. His program helped me understand hormones and especially how to trigger fat-burning hormones through foods. The weight slowly and steadily came off at exactly 2 pounds per week. At the end of the year I now weigh 103 and can fit into a size 2. I have absolutely no desire for chocolate or sweet fruits. This has become a healthy lifestyle as I have energy, better sleep, and no salt cravings.
I am the Liver Type. My name is Dan Searle and I have struggled with my weight for over a decade now, but when my doctor told me that I would develop diabetes if I didn't lose some weight, I made up my mind to find a way to get results. I have been on your program for about 6 months and I could absolutely not be happier with my results. I have lost over 95 pounds and I feel terrific. I started the program weighing 339 pounds and now I weigh 244. What was very interesting is that the first month on your program I lost NO weight; however, I could breathe better, I didn't get winded when I ran up the stairs, and I had much more energy. But the next month I lost 21 pounds. The third month I was 63 pounds less. Normally, I would have given up within the first month; however, Dr. Berg explained to me that I had to heal my body's endocrine system before fat could be burned. I also had to re-grow muscle protein in my legs, which made my knees weak, and muscle protein weighs more than fat, which explains why I was shrinking in my clothes but the weight didn't initially change. I had this idea that I had to lose weight to get and be healthy, but Dr. Berg explained I had it backwards-I had to get healthy before I would lose weight.
